Robbery Suspect Extradited Back to Kentucky

(Wickliffe, KY) - The Paducah man wanted in connection to a Ballard County Bank robbery has been extradited to Kentucky and lodged in the Ballard County Detention Center. Haywood "Wesley" Jones waived extradition before a Missouri judge on Saturday evening and was immediately transported to Ballard County, KY where he faces robbery and handgun charges for his role in a Wednesday bank robbery in Kevil. Jones was developed as a suspect in the robbery after review of additional surveillance footage as well as tips from the public. Haywood Jones was on probation for drug offenses at the time of the robbery.

Kevil Bank Robbery Suspect Located in Cairo, IL

(Hickory, KY) - A Paducah man wanted in connection to a Ballard County Bank robbery has been located and detained. Just after noon on September 20th, Cairo Illinois Police and the Illinois State Police responded to a reported shooting in the city limits of Cairo. Upon their arrival, officers located 25-year-old Haywood Jones. Jones was a party to the shooting and received multiple gunshot wounds. Jones was transported by ambulance to a Southeast Missouri hospital for treatment. Upon his release from the hospital, he will be jailed on the Kentucky Warrant and await extradition. The Illinois State Police are investigating the Cairo shooting incident.

KSP Seeking Suspect in Kevil Bank Robbery

(Hickory, KY) - The Kentucky State Police has attained warrants on Haywood W. Jones 25 of Paducah, KY for Robbery 1st degree (class B felony), and Possession of a Handgun by a Convicted Felon (class C felony). Jones is a black male, 5'6" and weighs approximately 160 lbs. Jones may be operating a white Ford Crown Victoria, unknown year, with temporary tags and possibly in the area of Cairo, IL. The Toyota Avalon was located earlier this date and is no longer being sought by KSP.

The suspect is considered armed and dangerous. If you spot this vehicle notify police and do not try to approach the suspect. KSP investigating Bank Robbery in Ballard County

(Kevil, KY) - The Kentucky State Police responded to a bank robbery at the First Community Bank in Kevil at approximately 11:41 AM. An unknown male approximately six feet tall, entered the bank dressed in camo pants, black and white tennis shoes and a black hoodie. The suspect brandished a handgun and demanded money. The suspect left with an unspecified amount of money and unknown direction of travel. It is believed that the suspect's vehicle is a late 90's model Toyota Avalon, bluish or grayish in color with damage on the front passenger side and missing the rear passenger hubcap.

Kentucky State Police Detective John Sims is leading the investigation and was assisted on the scene by the Ballard, and McCracken County Sheriff's Departments. The suspect is considered armed and dangerous. If you spot this vehicle notify police and do not try to approach the suspect.
