Princeton, KY (Caldwell County) - The Kentucky State Police investigated a single-vehicle, injury collision that occurred on Interstate 24, at approximately the 55 mile-marker, on Monday, February 3, 2014, at 11:34 a.m.
The preliminary investigation revealed that Deborah Vetzel, 54 of Cadiz, KY, was operating a 2002 Dodge Dakota eastbound on I-24. As Ms. Vetzel was attempting to pass a tractor-trailer that was in the travel (right) lane, her vehicle traveled over a patch of ice in the passing (left) lane which caused her to lose control. Ms. Vetzel was transported via ambulance to the Trigg County Hospital for treatment. She was wearing a seatbelt. There were no passengers involved.
