Single Vehicle Injury Collision On US 62

Dawson Springs, KY (Hopkins County) - The Kentucky State Police investigated a single-vehicle, injury collision that occurred on US 62, approximately one mile east of Dawson Springs, on Wednesday, July 9, 2014, at 10:35 p.m.
The preliminary investigation revealed that Stephen Gordon, 21, of Dawson Springs, KY, was operating a 1998 Ford Ranger westbound on US 62 when for an unknown reason his vehicle dropped off the eastbound shoulder of the roadway into a gravel section. As Mr. Gordon attempted to bring the vehicle back onto the roadway, his back tires lost traction in the gravel causing the vehicle to overturn onto its top. The vehicle slid to a stop and came to rest on its top at the intersection of US 62 and Dolph Carlton Road.
Mr. Gordon was transported to Baptist Health Madisonville by a private vehicle for treatment of minor injuries. A passenger in the vehicle, Jacob Adams, 19, of Dawson Springs, was transported by ambulance to Baptist Health Madisonville for treatment of minor injuries. Both occupants were wearing seatbelts at the time of the collision.
Trooper Nathan Craft investigated the collision. Trooper Joseph Bartolotti, Deputy Ryan Bailey-HCSO, Medical Center Ambulance Service, and the Charleston Volunteer Fire Department assisted at the scene.
