Two-Vehicle Injury Collision on KY 1069

Hanson, KY (Hopkins County) - The Kentucky State Police investigated a single-vehicle, rollover collision that occurred on KY 1069.
The preliminary investigation revealed that Jordan Ellison, 25 of Dundas, IL, was operating a white International Truck, traveling northbound on KY 1069. Mr. Ellison said he observed a vehicle traveling southbound on KY 1069 and he attempted to maneuver the vehicle to the right side of the road to give the approaching vehicle ample room. At this time the rear passenger side tires of the truck exited the roadway. Mr. Ellison attempted to maneuver the vehicle back onto the roadway, however, in doing so caused the vehicle to overturn. The vehicle came to rest facing westbound blocking both lanes of KY 1069. Mr. Ellison and his passenger, Lance Hurd, 37 of Flora, IL, were not injured as a result of the collision. The vehicle was transporting equipment utilized by the oil industry which contained a small amount of radioactive material, however, the material was not a threat.
Trooper Jonathan Murphy investigated the collision. Sergeant Nick Rice, Trooper Joesph Bartolotti, the Hopkins County Sheriff's Office, Madisonville Police Department, Hanson Fire Department, Madisonville Fire Department and Medical Center Ambulance Service assisted at the scene.
