Felony Arrest in Muhlenberg County

Beechmont, KY (Muhlenberg County) - On Sunday August 10, 2014 at approximately 0030 hours KSP Post 2 units attempted to serve arrest warrants on Anthony Lorusso at 100 Tiger Drive in Beechmont. Upon units arrival Mr. Lorusso barricaded himself with a handgun and shotgun in the rear portion of the trailer. Trooper McGehee was able to make contact with Mr. Lorusso via cell phone and after a brief negotiation Mr. Lorusso surrendered without incident. Mr. Lorusso was lodged in the Muhlenberg County Jail and charged with Possession of Handgun by Convicted Felon, Possession of Firearm by Convicted Felon, Resisting Arrest, Trafficking in Controlled Substance, 1st offense under 2 grams of Methamphetamine, Possession of Marijuana, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, 2 counts of Execution of Warrant for Other Agency and Execution of Parole Violation Warrant. Trooper McGehee was assisted at the scene by Trooper Jacob Fortney, Trooper Jonathan Murphy, Trooper Cody Kromer, Sergeant Nick Rice, Lieutenant Jason Newby, and the Muhlenberg County Sheriff's Office.
