Second, Single Vehicle Injury Collision On US 62

Central City, KY (Muhlenberg County) - The Kentucky State Police investigated a single-vehicle, injury collision that occurred on US 62, approximately 3 miles east of Central City, on Thursday, September 11, 2014, at 8:14 a.m.

The preliminary investigation revealed that Lakrisha Shemwell, 29, of Central City, was operating a 2008 Chevrolet Malibu westbound on US 62 when she lost control of her vehicle while negotiating a curve on the wet roadway. She overcorrected and lost control which caused the vehicle to overturn. The vehicle came to rest on its top in the westbound lane.

Ms. Shemwell was transported via ambulance to the Muhlenberg Community Hospital for treatment. She was wearing a seatbelt. There were no passengers involved.

Trooper Craig Engler investigated the collision. KSP CVE Sgt. Del Miller, the Central City Fire Department, and Muhlenberg County EMS assisted at the scene.
