Pursuit Leads To Arrests

St. Charles, KY (Hopkins County) - The Kentucky State Police arrested two individuals after a brief vehicle and foot pursuit.

On Wednesday, September 17, 2014, Troopers John Komar and Bob Winters were attempting to locate a subject who had outstanding warrants for his arrest. At approximately 1:09 p.m., the troopers located the subject, Aubrey E. Gunn Jr., 32, of Madisonville, KY, operating a vehicle on Princeton Street in St. Charles. As the troopers attempted to conduct a traffic stop, Mr. Gunn fled.

The vehicle fled down several side roads until it reached US 62. It continued on US 62 and turned onto Daniel Boone Road (KY 1687). Once on Daniel Boone Road, the vehicle made a left turn onto a dirt/gravel road. It continued into a wooded area where Mr. Gunn and the passenger exited the vehicle and fled on foot. After a brief foot pursuit, Mr. Gunn and the passenger were apprehended.

Tpr. Winters charged Mr. Gunn with the following offenses:

  1. Fleeing/Evading Police 1st Degree - Motor Vehicle
  2. Operating On A Suspended License
  3. Wanton Endangerment 1st Degree
  4. Fleeing/Evading Police 2nd Degree - On Foot
  5. Resisting Arrest
  6. Possession of Marijuana
  7. Criminal Mischief 1st Degree
  8. Execution of Parole Violation Warrant
  9. Execution of Bench Warrant (for Failure to Appear)

Tpr. Winters charged the passenger in the vehicle, April M. Corbitt, 34, of Earlington, KY, with the following offenses:

  1. Fleeing/Evading Police 2nd Degree - On Foot
  2. Hindering Apprehension/Prosecution 2nd Degree

Both subjects were lodged in the Hopkins County Jail.
