Two-Vehicle Injury Collision On US 62

Depoy, KY (Muhlenberg County) - The Kentucky State Police investigated a two-vehicle, injury collision that occurred on US 62, in the limits of Depoy, on Saturday, September 27, 2014, at 1:50 p.m.

The preliminary investigation revealed that William Oates, 80, of Greenville, was operating a 1984 Chevrolet pickup truck westbound on US 62. Aaron Faith, 34, of Central City, was operating a 2001 Chevrolet S10 westbound on US 62 approaching Mr. Oates.

Mr. Oates was slowing/stopping for a vehicle in front of him that was making a right turn. Mr. Faith was unable to stop in time and his vehicle rear-ended Mr. Oates' vehicle.

Mr. Oates, who was not wearing a seatbelt, was transported via ambulance to the Muhlenberg Community Hospital for treatment. Mr. Faith, who was wearing a seatbelt, was not injured. The passenger in Mr. Faith's vehicle, Olivia Faith, 4, was secured in a child safety seat and was not injured.

Trooper Jerry Knight investigated the collision. The Graham Volunteer Fire Department, Muhlenberg County EMS, and Muhlenberg County Constable Darrin Albro assisted at the scene.
