Single Vehicle Injury Collision On KY 70

Midland, KY (Muhlenberg County) - The Kentucky State Police investigated a single-vehicle, injury collision that occurred on KY 70, approximately five miles west of Midland, on Monday, November 17, 2014, at 8:00 a.m.

The preliminary investigation revealed that Tanya Duncan, 46, of Bremen, was operating a 2002 Chevrolet Venture westbound on KY 70. As she was negotiating a curve, the rear tires lost traction on the wet roadway which caused her to lose control. The vehicle exited the right shoulder of the roadway and continued down an embankment. It struck a tree stump and a tree before coming to rest upright off the roadway. Ms. Duncan, who was not wearing a seatbelt, was ejected.

Ms. Duncan was transported via ambulance to Baptist Health Madisonville for treatment. There were no passengers involved.

Trooper First Class Jerry Knight investigated the collision. Trooper First Class Lloyd Ray, the Graham Volunteer Fire Department, the Central City Fire Department, and Muhlenberg County EMS assisted at the scene.
