Assault First Degree Investigation

Trenton, KY (Todd County) - The Kentucky State Police is currently investigating a shooting that occurred at a residence on Clarksville Road in Trenton.
On Monday, November 24, 2014, at approximately 4:53 p.m., the KSP Post 2 Madisonville was contacted by the Todd County Sheriff's Department in reference to the shooting. The preliminary investigation revealed that Steven W. Kazee, 44, of Trenton, and Bruce A. Manzella, 25, of Trenton, had a verbal altercation outside at Manzella's mother's residence on Clarksville Road. During the verbal altercation, Mr. Manzella fired two shots from a .22 rifle towards Mr. Kazee. One of the shots struck Mr. Kazee in the right calf.
Mr. Kazee was transported via ambulance to the Gateway Medical Center in Clarksville, TN where he was treated and released.
Mr. Manzella was arrested by the Todd County Sheriff's Department on an outstanding warrant from Montgomery County (TN) and lodged in the Todd County Jail.
KSP Detective Scott Smith is continuing the investigation regarding the shooting. Sergeant Tim Sales, Trooper Ryan Fox, Trooper Jeff McWhorter, the Todd County Sheriff's Department, the Trenton Police Department, and Todd County EMS assisted at the scene.
