Injury Collision On KY 189

Powderly, KY (Muhlenberg County) - The Kentucky State Police investigated a two-vehicle, injury collision that occurred on KY 189 bypass, in the limits of Powderly, on Friday, December 12, 2014, at 9:28a.m.

The preliminary investigation revealed that Van Wilson, 71, of Beechmont, was operating a 2010 Toyota Tacoma south bound on the KY 189 bypass. Wilson was stopped at the intersection of Copper Creek Drive. Robert Ferguson, 80, of South Carrollton, was operating a 1999 Chevrolet Silverado south bound on the KY 189 bypass. When the light turned green, Wilson began to proceed through the intersection. The front of Ferguson's Chevrolet struck the rear of Wilson's Toyota. Both vehicles came to final rest upright in the roadway.

Both Mr. Wilson and Mr. Fergusson was transported via ambulance to the Muhlenberg Community Hospital for treatment. Both drivers were wearing seatbelts. There were no passengers involved.

Trooper First Class Jerry Knight investigated the collision. The Greenville Fire Department, Muhlenberg County Sheriff's Office, and Muhlenberg County EMS assisted at the scene.
