Felony Arrest in Warren County

(Bowling Green, KY.) - On April 03, 2014, Kentucky State Police Post 3 Trooper Chad Smith, was patrolling Veterans Memorial. When a red 2005 Chevrolet Pick-up passed Trooper Smith speeding in excess of 70 mph. Trooper Smith attempted to conduct a traffic stop, executing his emergency equipment. The accused Michael Thomas Sturgeon (27) of Bowling Green, KY, failed to yield and continued traveling toward Bowling Green. Mr. Sturgeon then turned onto Old Barren River Road continuing to flee from Troopers. Mr. Sturgeon then came to final rest at the Minit-Mart on Adams Street. Mr. Sturgeon was taken into custody without incident.
Mr. Sturgeon was charged with Fleeing or Evading Police 1st, Wanton Endangerment 1st, Possession of Marijuana, Possession of Synthetic Cannabinoid, Resisting Arrest, and other traffic related charges. The passenger of the vehicle, Jessica Dawn Burgett, was also arrested for drug related charges, resisting arrest, and disorderly conduct. Both subjects were lodged in the Warren County Regional Jail.
