Double Fatal Collision in Simpson County

(Bowling Green, KY) - On Friday, October 31, 2014, at 3:59 P.M.Kentucky State Police Post 3 Bowling Green responded to the intersection of KY 103 and KY 1170 in Simpson County.
According to Trooper Michael Wathen, Samantha Eastgate (22) of New Kensington, PA was traveling west on KY 1170 in a 2004 Volkswagon with her passengers Jonathan Rimmel IV (13) of Woodburn, KY and an one year old juvenile. Ms. Eastgate, pulled in the path of Charles Coleman (60) operating a 1976 International. Mr. Coleman was unable to avoid striking the 2004 Volkswagon on its passenger side.
Jonathan Rimmel IV was pronounced dead on the scene by Simpson County Coroner Gary Crafton. Samantha Eastgate was transported to the Bowling Green Medical Center and then flown to Skyline Medical Center in Nashville, TN where she later succumbed to her injuries. The one year old juvenile passenger was restrained in a child seat and was not injured.
Charles Coleman was transported to the Medical Center in Bowling Green for treatment and release.
The investigation is still ongoing and is being led by Trooper Michael Wathen.
