KSP Investigates Injury Collision in Boyle County
Date of News Release: 03/11/2014
(Danville, KY) - On Tuesday, March 11, 2014 at 8:21 a.m. EDT the Kentucky State Police, Richmond Post responded to an injury collision at the intersection of Lexington Road (KY-34) and the New Bypass (KY-2168) in Danville, KY.
Initial investigation has revealed that a 1999 Kenworth Commercial Vehicle, operated by Walker Rowe, 55 years old of Stanford, was traveling east on the Bypass and failed to stop at a red light at the intersection of Lexington Road. Rowe collided with a 1997 Oldsmobile passenger car operated by Evelyn Ball, 78 years old of Lancaster, KY. A 1998 Chevrolet passenger car, operated by Kathy Brackett, 57 years old of Liberty, and a 2008 Nissan pick-up truck, operated by Jerry Houck, 42 years old of Perryville, were also struck as a result of the collision.
Evelyn Ball was transported to Ephraim McDowell Medical Center as a result of her injuries. There were not any other injuries reported at the scene. Alcohol does not appear to be a factor in the collision.
The collision is still under investigation by Trooper Frank Thornberry. He was assisted at the scene by KSP Commercial Vehicle Enforcement, Boyle County Sheriff's Department, and Danville Fire Department.
