KSP Investigates Fatal Collision in Mercer County

(Harrodsburg, KY) - The Kentucky State Police, Richmond Post is investigating a fatal collision that happened just before 12:00 pm today (08/17/2014) in Mercer County.

The initial investigation has revealed that Misty Yeager, 39 years old of Williamsburg, KY was traveling west on Perryville Road (Highway 68) in a 2001 Hyundai Tiburon. Yeager lost control of her vehicle causing her to cross the centerline and collide with a 2004 Chevrolet truck. The passenger in the Hyundai, 11 year old Tristan Yeager, died at the scene as a result of his injuries from the collision. Misty Yeager was transported to Ephriam McDowell Regional Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries. Alcohol does not appear to be a factor in the collision. The cause of the collision is still under investigation.

The ongoing investigation is being conducted by Trooper Jeff Stith. He was assisted at the scene by KSP Personnel, Mercer County Sheriff's Office, Mercer county EMS, and the Mercer County Coroner.
