Winchester Residents Arrested in 2012 Clark County Murder Investigation

(Winchester, KY) -- The Kentucky State Police, Richmond Post with the assistance of the Winchester Police Department, has made two arrests in a 2012 Clark County murder case.

Brandon Guy, 27 years old of Winchester, and Aaron Spencer, 24 years old of Winchester, were arrested on an indictment warrant on Monday, August 18, 2014, as a result of an investigation. They have been charged with Murder, Tampering with Physical Evidence, and Arson 1st Degree, and are lodged in the Clark County Detention Center.

The investigation began on Sunday, October 21, 2012 at 5:55 a.m. EDT, when the Kentucky State Police, Richmond Post was contacted by the Clark County 911 Center concerning a fatal fire that occurred at 544 East Broadway Street. The initial investigation revealed that Kenneth Payton, Jr., 50 years old of Winchester, allegedly died in a house fire at his residence.

The investigation is ongoing by Detective Jeremy Hamm.
