KSP Investigates Fatal Collision in Boyle County

(Danville, KY) -- The Kentucky State Police, Richmond Post is investigating a fatal collision that occurred at approximately 2:00 pm this afternoon (10/23/2014) in Boyle County.
The initial investigation indicates that William C. Edwards, 55 years old of Harrodsburg, was traveling South on KY-33, just north of Danville. Edwards drove of the right side of the road and struck a culvert. His vehicle overturned causing him to be ejected. Edwards was transported to Ephraim McDowell hospital where he was pronounced deceased. It does not appear that Edwards was wearing his seatbelt at the time of the collision and alcohol may be a factor in the collision.
The ongoing investigation is being conducted by Tpr. Frank Thornberry. He was assisted at the scene by Mercer County Sheriff's Office, Boyle County Sheriff's Office, Burgin Fire Dept, Boyle County Fire Dept, Mercer County EMS, and Boyle County EMS.
