KSP Promotes Two New Post 7 Sergeants and Welcomes a New Lieutenant

(Richmond, KY) - The Kentucky State Police, Richmond Post welcomes two new Sergeants and one Lieutenant.
Sergeant Phillip W. Powell was promoted to Sergeant on October 16, 2014. Sgt. Powell is a resident of Richmnd, KY, and a 7 year veteran with KSP. Sgt. Powell, a 1995 Madison Southern Graduate, began his career on February 25, 2008 as a Trooper to KSP Post 7.
Sergeant Scott T. King was promoted to Sergeant on October 16, 2014. Sgt. King is a resident of Richmond, KY, and a 14 year veteran with KSP. Sgt. King, a 1995 Madison Central Graduate, began his career with the State Police as a Trooper assigned to Post 8 in Morehead, KY. Sgt. King transferred to Post 7 in 2002, where he served as a Trooper and Detective. While assigned to Post 7, he served seven years as a member of the KSP Honor Guard, and as a soldier in the U.S. Army Reserves.
Lieutenant Christopher J. Crockett was transferred to KSP Post 7 on October 16, 2014 and assigned as the Operations Lieutenant. LT. Crockett is a resident of Lexington, KY, and a 19 year veteran of the State Police. LT. Crockett began his career with the State Police in 1995 and was assigned as a Trooper to KSP Post 7. LT. Crockett served as a Trooper and Detective at Post 7, before transferring to the Executive Security Branch on January 1, 2008. LT. Crockett was promoted to Sergeant in 2011 and remained assigned to the Executive Security Branch. LT. Crockett was promoted to Lieutenant on November 16, 2013 and assigned as the Commander of the Electronic Crime Branch.
