KSP Investigates Fatal Collision in Jackson County

(McKee, KY) - The Kentucky State Police, Richmond Post is investigating a fatal collision that happened just before 7:00 a.m., on Tuesday, December 16th in Jackson County.

The initial investigation indicates that Franklin L. Sizemore, 29 years old of Tyner, KY was traveling east on KY HWY-30 in a Silver Buick passenger car. Jerry McQueen, 46 years old of Annville, was traveling west on KY HWY 30 in a Chevrolet Truck, hauling a livestock trailer. The two vehicles collided head-on near the Laurel County line in Jackson County, killing both Franklin L. Sizemore and Jerry McQueen. They were pronounced deceased at the scene by the Jackson County Coroner. Alcohol does not appear to be a factor in the collision, and the cause of the collision is still under investigation.

The ongoing investigation is being conducted by Trooper Brent Lynch. He was assisted at the scene by KSP Personnel, Jackson County Police Department, Jackson county EMS, Jackson County Fire & Rescue, and the Jackson County Coroner.
