Morehead Man Injured in a Motorcycle Collision on KY 801

(Morehead, KY) -- On July 13th, 2014 at 4:55pm, Kentucky State Police Morehead received a call from Morehead City Police Dispatch requesting assistance, with a single vehicle injury collision on KY 801. Kentucky State Police, Kentucky Fish and Wildlife, Rowan County EMS, and Farmers Fire Department responded to the scene. After an investigation was completed at the scene, it was determined that Mr. Jeffrey Warren, 53, of Morehead, was operating a 2002 Harley-Davidson motorcycle. Mr. Warren was traveling northbound on KY 801 when he entered into a curve and failed to negotiate the turn. Mr. Warren struck the northbound guardrail face and slid across both lanes of traffic coming to a final rest on the shoulder of the southbound lane. Mr. Warren was airlifted to the University of Kentucky Medical Center where he is listed in stable condition. Mr. Warren was not wearing a helmet, the collision remains under investigation by Trooper Bryantt Furman.
