Death Investigation in Rockcastle County

Date of News Release: 02/03/2015

(LONDON, KY.) - On Tuesday, February 03, 2015, at approximately 7:54 AM Kentucky State Police Post 11, London was notified of a residential structure fire with a fatality on Low Gap Road in Rockcastle County.

KSP Arson Investigator Detective Brian Lewis along with Detective John Barnett arrived on the scene and discovered the victim Morris Cromer, 55, of Mount Vernon deceased in the bedroom area of the residence.

The cause of the fire has not been determined at this time however, foul play is not suspected. An autopsy has been scheduled for tomorrow in Frankfort.

KSP Post 11 Arson Investigator Detective Brian Lewis and Detective Barnett are in charge of the investigation. They were assisted at the scene by Trooper Joshua Brainard, Rockcastle County Coroner's Office, Mount Vernon Fire Department, Brodhead Fire Department, Western Rockcastle County Fire Department and Pongo Fire Department Department.
