Danville Man Arrested after Pursuit

(Frankfort, KY) - On Friday, January 3rd, 2015, Trooper Gabe Welch initiated a pursuit in response to a complaint that was relayed through Lawrenceburg Dispatch about a possible DUI. The vehicle was a 1996 Nissan truck driven by Kenneth D. Stuart of Danville and that he was possibly armed. The vehicle was observed driving on HWY 127 in Anderson County. The subject failed to stop when Trooper Welch engaged his emergency equipment, and began to accelerate. The subject continued towards the city limits of Frankfort. Trooper Jeff Gaby was able to successfully deploy tire deflation measures against the perpetrator. The subject (Stuart) continued down US 127 into Frankfort with two flat tires. He turned onto Capital Avenue into the oncoming traffic lane, he was then stopped using a pit maneuver by Trooper Welch due to his approaching proximity to the capital. The subject (Stuart) then was removed from his vehicle and became combative with the arresting Troopers and was eventually secured and arrested.
The driver of the vehicle, Kenneth Stuart, age 52, of Danville Kentucky, was arrested and charged with Possession of Firearm by Convicted Felon, Wanton Endangerment 1st, DUI 1st , Reckless Driving, Fleeing or Evading Police 1st Degree (Motor Vehicle), Improper Passing, Resisting Arrest and Speeding. Additional charges are pending.
Kentucky State Police was assisted by, Kentucky Department of Fish and Wildlife, Lawrenceburg Police Department, Franklin County Sheriff's Office, and Frankfort Police Department.
