Kentucky State Police Pursuit of Vehicle Ends In Arrest

(Frankfort, KY) - On Friday, July 3rd, 2015, Richmond Police Department initiated a pursuit in response to a complaint of a stolen motor vehicle to which Post 7 and Richmond Police Department responded. The vehicle was a 1999 Ford F-450 truck which was stolen by a female suspect. The vehicle was observed driving on I-75 in Madison County. When a traffic stop was attempted, the subject failed to stop and then a pursuit was initiated. The subject continued north on I-75 towards Fayette County. Troopers, CVE, and Lexington Metro were able to successfully deploy tire deflation measures against the perpetrator. The subject continued down I-75 north to Exit 115 (Newtown Pike) with four flat rear tires. She turned onto Manchester Road, to Old Frankfort Pike, then turned onto Alexandria Drive. From Alexandria Drive she turned right onto Leestown Road into the oncoming traffic lanes, she was then stopped after hitting a KSP Crown Victoria Cruiser driven by Lieutenant Chris Crockett. The subject then was removed from the vehicle and arrested by Troopers and was secured and taken to UK Hospital for evaluation.
The driver of the vehicle is unidentified at this time and was arrested and charged with Wanton Endangerment 2nd, DUI 1st Aggravated, Robbery 1st, Fleeing or Evading Police 1st Degree (Motor Vehicle), Criminal Mischief 1st, and Wanton Endangerment 1st.
Kentucky State Police was assisted by, CVE, Richmond PD, Madison County Sheriff's Office and Lexington Metro Police.
The investigation is ongoing by the Kentucky State Police, Post 12.
