Date of News Release: 02/02/2015

(Hazard, KY) - Four men remain at large after a residential armed robbery in Knott County just after 1:30 a.m., on January 29. Troopers with Kentucky State Police Post 13 in Hazard were called to a residence at Jamestown Village, in a mobile home community on the Knott and Perry County line, off of Highway 80. Troopers were dispatched in response to a call of a robbery in progress at the residence. The perpetrators had fled the scene prior to officers arriving.

Investigators located the homeowner, Kimberly Owens, and a male subject at the scene. Kimberly Owens advised officers that four male subjects forcibly entered her home, assaulted her with a firearm, and then handcuffed her together with Moses Wright. The intruders took a jacket, cell phone, and set of car keys before fleeing the residence in a light colored passenger car, possibly a Toyota or Honda. It is unknown who these subject were or where they fled to. Kimberly Owens received a minor injury to her eye, but neither she nor Moses Wright was seriously injured.

Troopers did a search of the area but were unable to locate the vehicle or men involved. Tpr. Eric Caldwell is continuing this investigation. Anyone with information concerning this incident is urged to contact KSP Post 13 at 606-435-6069.
