Armed Robbery at Perry County Mini Mart

(Hazard, KY) - Troopers are investigating an armed robbery that occurred early Sunday morning in Perry County. Kentucky State Police Post 13 in Hazard received a call advising that the Boone Ledge Mini Mart, located approximately 4 miles south of Hazard on Highway 15, had been robbed. KSP troopers and detectives were dispatched to the scene.
It was determined that two male subjects entered the store, with one brandishing a firearm. One store employee was forced to the ground by the perpetrator with the gun, while a second employee was forced against a counter by the other unknown male. The gunman then jumped the counter and took an unknown amount of money, before both suspects fled the store on foot. Both suspects were wearing dark hoodies, jeans, gloves and masks, but no other physical identifiers are available at this time. Neither of the employees was injured.
A search of the immediate area was conducted but the suspects were not located. Trooper Luke Pridemore with KSP Post 13 is continuing this investigation. Anyone with assisting information is urged to contact Post 13 at 606-435-6069.
