Fatal Fire Investigation in Greenup County

(Ashland, Ky.) -- The Kentucky State Police in Ashland are investigating a fatal fire after responding to a structure fire at 14368 State Route 7 in the Load community of Greenup County.

On February 26, 2015 at 10:22 pm the Kentucky State Police received a request from Greenup County 911 to investigate a residential fire with three possible fatalities. Upon arrival it was determined three victims had been located in the fire and were deceased.

Wilma Osborn, age 48 and Jensyn Archey, age 6, both of 14368 State Route 7 Load, KY have been positively identified as victims of the structure fire. At this time the third victim has not been positively identified. (Identity will be released as soon as positive identification has been made.) Autopsies are scheduled for each of the 3 victims for later today at the State Medical Examiner's Office in Frankfort, KY. Information obtained suggests all three victims are related and did reside at the residence. (Specific relationship details are not available for release at this time.)

The investigation is currently ongoing, but in the early stages. Foul play is not suspected and the deaths do not appear to be suspicious in nature. At this time the exact cause of the fire has not been determined, but will be released when it is available.

The following agencies responded and assisted during the course of the investigation: Greenup County Coroner's Office, Load Fire Department and Maloneton Fire Department.
