One Killed in a Collision on KY 206 in Adair County

(Columbia, KY) - Tpr. Kenny Brown is investigating a collision that occurred on January 14, 2015 at approximately 1:42 PM CST, 2.5 miles east of Columbia on KY 206. 38-year-old Bryan Harvey, of Columbia and 40-year-old Ina Copley, of Russell Springs were traveling east on KY 206 in a 2004 Toyota SUV. The SUV traveled off the shoulder causing the driver to lose control and travel over an embankment. Both were ejected from the car due to not wearing a seatbelt.

Harvey was airlifted to to University of Louisville Hospital where he is in critical condition. Copley was pronounced dead at Westlake Regional Hospital by the Adair County Coroner.

It is unclear as to who was operating the vehicle and alcohol is believed to have been a contributing factor. Tpr. Brown was assisted at the scene by the Adair County Sheriff's Department, Fire, EMS and Rescue. The investigation is ongoing.
