***UPDATE: CANCEL*** - Search Underway for Casey County Man believed Armed & Dangerous

(Danville, KY) - Just after 12 PM EDT today, Post 7 Richmond received a tip that Matthew Dale Grider had been seen in the area of Curtis Road in rural Boyle County. The Boyle County Sheriff's Department, with one K9, and KSP personnel, responded to the area and began to track Grider. The search led to a barn in a field where Grider was spotted as he fled on foot out the rear of the barn. Following a lengthy pursuit, Grider brandished a firearm and fatally shot himself. No shots were fired by law enforcement. The death investigation is being handled by Detectives with KSP Post 7.

Search Underway for Casey County Man believed Armed & Dangerous

(Liberty, KY.) - Kentucky State Police are still searching for 36-year-old Matthew Dale Grider. He was last seen in the area of Sand Knob Road in northern Casey County on Wednesday at approximately 5:30 PM EDT.

The incident occurred when an officer who works with the Kentucky State Police DESI East Task Force stopped to check on a stranded motorist. The officer discovered through the vehicles license plate number that the owner, Grider, had active arrest warrants. When he attempted to make the arrest, Grider pulled a pistol from his pocket and the two exchanged gunfire before Grider fled into the woods.

Grider is considered to be armed and dangerous and should not be approached.
