Cumberland County Fatal Collision

(Burkesville, KY) - Tpr. Bobby Maxwell is investigating a collision that occurred on 05/30/2015 at 4:58 AM CST on KY 449, 5 miles south of Burkesville. 42-year-old Timothy D. Alexander, of Burkesville, was operating a westbound 1998 Chevy truck when he left the roadway and struck a tree. Alexander was wearing a seatbelt and was flown to University of Louisville Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Alexander's children, 7-month-old Jordan Alexander and 18-month-old Timothy R. Alexander were passengers. Jordan Alexander was believed to have been in a child restraint seat but not properly restrained and was pronounced dead at the scene. Timothy R. Alexander was also in a child restraint seat and flown to University of Louisville Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Alcohol is believed to be a factor. The investigation is ongoing and criminal charges are expected. Tpr. Jonathan Paull, the Cumberland County Sheriff's Department, Fire, EMS and Rescue assisted Tpr. Maxwell at the scene.
