Two-Vehicle Collision with Injuries on US Highway 231

Henderson, KY - Kentucky State Police responded to a two vehicle accident with injuries on US Highway 231 near Red Hill-Maxwell Rd in Daviess County. April Kennedy was operating a 2005 white Dodge Dakota, traveling south bound on US 231, near Red Hill-Maxwell Road. Eddie Stamper and his wife were in a 2008 Green Chevy Trailblazer, traveling north bound on US 231 and were crossing the bridge when Ms. Kennedy fell asleep behind the wheel causing her vehicle to cross the center line and enter the oncoming lane of traffic forcing Mr. Stamper to direct his vehicle out of her path and into the south bound lane. Ms. Kennedy's vehicle hit the rear passenger side of Stamper's trailblazer and then impacted the bridge and guard rail several times before coming to a final stop in the north bound lane. Ms. Kennedy was transported by Owensboro EMS to Owensboro Regional Health Hospital where she is being treated for minor injuries. The Kentucky State Police was assisted by Masonville Fire Department. The investigation is ongoing.
