Update: KSP Conducting Officer Involved Shooting in Carlisle County

(Bardwell, KY) - Bardwell Police Chief Brandon Marbry was investigating a stolen vehicle complaint this morning in Bardwell. While investigating the complaint Chief Marbry happened upon a vehicle matching the description at a residence on West Court Street in Bardwell. Chief Marbry exited his patrol vehicle and began to approach the suspect vehicle, which had begun to back out of the driveway. Chief Marbry ordered Daniel E. Hauger, 29 of Cunningham, to exit the vehicle. Hauger ignored the verbal commands and drove his vehicle in the path of Chief Marbry. Chief Marbry fired his service weapon at the vehicle striking Hauger in the leg. Hauger continued to flee from the scene and Chief Marbry initiated a vehicle pursuit. Hauger was detained a few miles from the initial incident.

Kentucky State Police has charged Hauger with Attempted Murder of a Police Officer and Fleeing and Evading Police 1st Degree. Hauger was released from the hospital after treatment and was lodged in the Ballard County Jail.

The investigation continues by Kentucky State Police Detective Sergeant Dean Patterson. KSP was assisted on the scene by the Kentucky Department of Fish and Wildlife, Carlisle County Sherriff's Department, Bardwell Police Department, Carlisle Fire Department, and Carlisle County EMS.

KSP Conducting Officer Involved Shooting in Carlisle County

(Bardwell, KY) - The Kentucky State Police were notified this morning at 08:55 of a shooting and vehicle pursuit that involved a Bardwell Police Officer. Detectives with the Kentucky State Police Post 1, are conducting an investigation into the officer involved shooting, at the request of Bardwell City Officials. The victim was transported to Lourdes Hospital where he is being treated for non-life threatening injuries.
