Lyon County Injury Collision on I-24

(Mayfield, KY.) – On May 10, 2015 Kentucky State Police responded to an injury collision located on Interstate 24, in the East Bound lanes of Lyon County at the 42 mile marker. Upon arrival, a black Ford Focus was observed overturned in the median near a gravel turn around. The driver, Mr. Aubrey Martin, of the overturned vehicle, was transported by Lyon County Ambulance Service to Caldwell Medical Center for non-life threatening injuries. The other motor vehicle involved was badly damaged but the driver was uninjured. Witnesses indicated that the driver of the overturned vehicle changed lanes suddenly, while aggressively applying his brakes in an attempt to make an illegal U-turn. When the lane change was made, the other vehicle involved, operated by, Mr. Timothy Lewzadrer, applied his brakes hard but could not avoid rear ending the Ford. The injured driver, Mr. Martin, was charged with multiple traffic violations.
