Gary Fraser Named Civilian Intelligence Liaison Officer of the Year

(Hickory, KY) – Kentucky State Police Post 1 Intelligence Analyst Gary Fraser was recently awarded the Civilian Intelligence Liaison Officer (ILO) of the year award by the Kentucky Office of Homeland Security's Intelligence Fusion Center at a recent statewide conference. Gary has been proactive in working with the Fusion Center since the beginning. The information he provides not only benefits the officers in his agency, but officers statewide as well as those in bordering states. Gary has developed a strong, working relationship with the Fusion Center as an ILO and has served as an uplifting member of his community following the recent deaths of two state police troopers from his post.
The mission of an Intelligence Liaison Officer (ILO) is to serve as the primary point of contact for his/her agency regarding homeland security matters and to serve as a conduit of information between his/her agency and the Kentucky Intelligence Fusion Center. The Fusion Center currently has approximately 225 ILOs in the law enforcement community and approximately 50 in the fire community.
Gary has been employed with the KSP since August 1999 and has been serving as an Intelligence Analyst since January 2012.
