Two Vehicle Injury Collision On Pennyrile Parkway

Hopkinsville, KY (Christian County) - The Kentucky State Police investigated a two-vehicle, injury collision that occurred on the Edward T. Breathitt Pennyrile Parkway, at approximately the 11 mile-marker on-ramp, on Tuesday, March 3, at 7:10 a.m.

The preliminary investigation revealed that Emily Fisher, 25, Hopkinsville, was operating a 2010 Mitsubishi Outlander, entering the exit 11 on-ramp for traffic going northbound on the parkway. Sharon Parker, 55, Hopkinsville, was operating a 2002 Kia Sportage, stopped at the bottom of the ramp, waiting to merge into traffic. Ms. Fisher failed to notice Ms. Parker's vehicle was stopped and rear-ended it.

Ms. Parker was transported via ambulance to the Jennie Stuart Medical Center for treatment. Ms. Fisher and her children, Kaleb Fisher, 6, Kameron Fisher, 5, and Peyton Billingley, 1, were not injured. The adults were wearing seatbelts and the children were restrained in child safety seats.

Trooper Luis Palmer investigated the collision. The Christian County Sheriff's Department and Hopkinsville/Christian County EMS assisted at the scene.
