Powderly Man Charged With Arson & Burglary

Powderly, KY (Muhlenberg County) - The Kentucky State Police has charged a Powderly man with arson and burglary.
On Tuesday, June 2, at approximately 9:25 a.m., KSP Arson Investigator Scott Steward charged David S. Lindsey, 40, Powderly, with one count of Arson 2nd Degree (B Felony). Mr. Lindsey had already been lodged in the Muhlenberg County Detention Center for a previous offense.
Mr. Lindsey is accused of setting fire to a shed on Hawkins Street in Powderly in the early morning hours of June 2. The fire then spread to a mobile home. The Greenville Fire Department responded to the scene and extinguished the fire. There were no injuries.
Through the course of the investigation, Investigator Steward was able to obtain a search warrant for Mr. Lindsey's residence on Hawkins Street. At approximately 3:15 p.m., officers executed the search warrant. Officers located property that was stolen from the shed before it was set on fire.
As a result of the search warrant, Mr. Lindsey was subsequently charged with one count of Burglary 3rd Degree (D Felony). He remains lodged in the Muhlenberg County Detention Center.
The investigation is continuing by Investigator Steward. The State Fire Marshal's Office, KSP Detectives Lloyd Ray and Brandon McPherson, Trooper First Class Craig Engler, and the Greenville Fire Department assisted.
