Injury Collision on I-65 at 69 MM Southbound

(Munfordville, KY) - On Friday, February 27, 2015 at approx. 4:45 am the Kentucky State Police Post 3 Bowling Green recieved a call of an injury collision involving a tractor trailer at the 69 mm Southbound on Interstate 65.

The preliminary investigation indicates that Roger Tearman (62) of Indianapolis, IN, was operating a tractor trailer heading southbound on Interstate 65 at the 69 mm when he exited the right shoulder of the roadway striking a steel guardrail for approx. 2400 feet where he then exited the right shoulder of the roadway and struck an earth embankment, causing the vehicle to overturn and come to rest on its side.

Tearman was transported by Hart County EMS to Caverna Memorial Hospital where he was later flown to Norton Hospital in Louisville, KY and is currently listed in stable condition. It is believed at this time that a medical condition may have been a contributing factor in the collision.

Interstate 65 southbound was closed for approx. 5 hours due to the collision but is now open. The investigation is still ongoing and is being led by Kentucky State Police Commercial Vehicle Enforcement Officer Roy Murley.
