Update: Officer Drug By Vehicle While Attempting Arrest of Wanted Subject Resulting in Shots Being Fired

(Bowling Green, KY) - The Kentucky State Police Post 3 Bowling Green received information to the possible whereabouts of Adrian "A.C." Barnes today in the area of Stump Bluff Road in Warren County.

Upon arrival of units a vehicle was located off the roadway where subjects had fled from the scene. Brittany Barnes (26) was located in the area where she was taken into custody. Troopers assisted with the arrest of Barnes, where she was lodged in the Warren County Regional Jail by Probation and Parole for a Parole Violation.

Troopers, with the assistance of Officers from multiple agencies, are still attempting to locate Adrian Barnes and are asking that anyone with information to his whereabouts contact police. No other information is available for release at this time.

Officer Drug By Vehicle While Attempting Arrest of Wanted Subject Resulting in Shots Being Fired

(Bowling Green, KY) - The Kentucky State Police Post 3 Bowling Green responded to a report of an Officer being drug by a vehicle when the operator fled to avoid apprehension, which resulted in shots being fired.

Detectives with the Warren County Drug Task Force and the Drug Enforcement/ Special Investigations Unit of the Kentucky State Police were in the limits of Bowling Green attempting to locate Adrian Barnes (30) in reference to some outstanding arrest warrants, when contact was made with him in a 2000 Ford Explorer in the Dollar General parking lot on KY 185. When units approached him and were in the process of effecting the arrest, Barnes fled in the vehicle dragging an officer for a short distance. The officer that was drug, a Bowling Green PD Officer assigned to the Warren County Drug Task Force, along with a second officer, a Detective with the KSP Drug Enforcement/ Special Investigations Unit, responded to the actions of Barnes by firing at the subject with their issued firearms.

Barnes was able to elude arrest and flee from the scene. His vehicle was located abandoned a short time later in an area beside the Learning Center on Double Springs Road, not far from the original incident. At this time it cannot be confirmed if Barnes, or the unidentified female passenger in the vehicle, were struck by the gunfire.

The original outstanding warrants were for Possession of a Controlled Substance 1st Degree (Meth), Tampering with Physical Evidence, Persistent Felony Offender 2nd Degree, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, and Operating on a Suspended Operators License.

Warrants have been obtained in reference to this incident and are for Assault 3rd Degree and Fleeing or Evading Police 1st Degree (Motor Vehicle).

Anyone with information as to the whereabouts of Adrian "A.C." Barnes is asked to call the Kentucky State Police Post 3 Bowling Green, the Warren County Drug Task Force, or the Bowling Green Police Department. He is 30 years old, 5'11" tall, 175 pounds, blue eyes, brownish-blonde hair, and multiple tattoos. Due to his actions tonight, Barnes is to be considered dangerous.

The investigation is still ongoing and being led by the Kentucky State Police. No other information is available for release at this time.
