KSP Post 4 Investigating Elizabethtown Shooting

(ELIZABETHTOWN, KY.) - Kentucky State Police Post 4 is investigating a shooting that occurred at a residence in Elizabethtown. On Wednesday, May 13, 2015 at approximately 1:40 AM EST, KSP Post 4 received a call of a subject that had been shot at his residence at 208 Milton Ave. The victim, Gary Bickett (50) stated to responding Troopers and Detectives that someone threw a rock through his front window. When the victim went outside to investigate he encountered what he described as a man dressed in black clothing with a gun. He then stated that the man fired a shot that struck him. Mr. Bickett suffered a gunshot wound to the abdomen and was treated by Hardin Co. EMS. He was later airlifted to University of Louisville Hospital where he is listed in stable condition. During the course of the investigation Detectives also discovered marijuana plants growing outside of the residence as well as an indoor marijuana grow. The marijuana grow operation was dismantled and processed by members of the Greater Hardin Co. Narcotics Task Force.
