Single Vehicle Collision on I-64 in Bath County

(Bath County, KY) -- On Wednesday May 6, 2015 at 3:29 pm Kentucky State Police was notified by a passerby that there had been a single vehicle accident on the bridge at the 118 mile marker on Interstate 64 in Bath County. Trooper Todd Coleman, CVE Sergeant Jason Townsend, Bath County EMS, Bath County Sheriff, Owningsville Police Department, and Bath County Fire Department responded to the scene. Glenn Elliott, 50 of Owningsville, Kentucky was operating his 2004 Dodge pickup east bound when he lost control of the vehicle leaving the roadway and went in to the median, the driver over-corrected in the median. The vehicle then left the median back onto Interstate 64 crossing both east bound lanes, and then struck the guardrail head on before overturning multiple times before coming to final rest on the bridge. Mr. Elliott was air lifted to University of Kentucky Medical Center where he is listed in stable condition at this time. The collision remains under investigation by Trooper Todd Coleman.
