KSP Investigates Armed Robbery at Plaza Arcade

(Millard, KY) - In the early morning hours of Saturday, April 04, 2015, Post 9 Pikeville received a 911 call of an armed robbery at Plaza Arcade in the Millard Community of Pike County. Troopers responded to the scene and determined that two males entered the business property, and approached an employee outside after closing. The males forced the employee back into the store, with both brandishing firearms, and demanding money. The employee retrieved an undisclosed amount of money, giving it to the subjects, before the two fled the scene on foot. The two males fled the scene in a vehicle belonging to one of the employees. The vehicle was recovered unoccupied at a nearby location.
The initial investigation at the scene indicates one of the subjects, a 5'8" male, slender build, was wearing a black hooded sweatshirt and jeans. The other subject, a 6' male, approximately 220lbs, was also wearing a black hooded sweatshirt and jeans. Both subjects wore masks and gloves during the incident.

This incident remains under investigation by KSP Detective Jeremy Giles. Detective Giles was assisted at the scene by Troopers from Post 09.
