KSP Investigates Fatal Accident in Pike County

(Regina, KY) - The Kentucky State Police, Pikeville Post, is investigating a fatal collision in Pike County that occurred in the morning hours of May 23, 2015.

The initial investigation indicates that Jimmy Mullins, 24 years old of Elkhorn City, Kentucky, was driving on Regina Belcher Highway in the Regina community, when the vehicle he was operating left the roadway and overturned into a creek. Mullins was pronounced deceased at the scene by Pike County Deputy Coroner Denver Bailey. Information obtained at the scene indicates that Mullins was not wearing his seatbelt at the time of the collision, and alcohol does not appear to be a factor.

The ongoing investigation is being conducted by Trooper Jacob Spurlock.
