Traffic Crash with Fatality in Clay County

(LONDON, KY.) - On Wednesday, June 22, 2016 at approximately 6:34 PM, the Kentucky State Police, Post 11 London, received a report of a single vehicle traffic crash on US 421 in Clay County.

Upon arrival Trooper Josh Wilson determined that a 2004 Ford Taurus, operated by Michael L Harris, 60, of Manchester was traveling on US 421 when the single vehicle crash occurred. Harris was trapped inside the vehicle and had to extricated by mechanical means.

Harris, who was not wearing a seat belt, was pronounced dead at the scene by the Clay County Coroner's Office.

Alcohol and/or drug usage is not suspected.

Trooper Wilson is in charge of the investigation and was assisted by the Burning Springs Fire Department and the Clay County Coroner's Office.
