Breathitt County Crash Claims One Life

Hazard, KY (October 10, 2016) - A Lost Creek man was killed Friday morning after the car he was driving collided with another vehicle on Highway 15 in the Watts community of Breathitt County. Kentucky State Police Post 13 in Hazard received a call advising of the crash at around 10:27 a.m. Trooper Mike Wolfe and EMS personnel responded to the scene.

It was initially determined that Jimmy Neace, age 58 of Lost Creek, was operating a 2000 Chevrolet Cavalier on KY Highway 1278, at the intersection of KY 15. Neace pulled onto Highway 15, directly into the path of a 2007 Toyota Yaris which was traveling south on the roadway. The cars collided in the southbound lane of KY 15, resulting in severe damage to both vehicles. Jimmy Neace was pronounced deceased at the scene by Breathitt County Coroner George Griffith.

The driver of the Toyota, Aaron Roark, and a passenger, Devin Beach, were both transported to Kentucky River Medical Center in Jackson, for treatment of injuries sustained in the crash. This incident remains under investigation by Tpr. Mike Wolfe with KSP Post 13.
