Fleeing and Evading Police – Motor Vehicle

Henderson, KY (06-24-16) - At approximately 2258 hours, Kentucky State Police were conducting a traffic safety checkpoint on KY 54 in Fordsville. A passenger car made an abrupt U-turn in the roadway as it neared the checkpoint. A Trooper attempted to stop the vehicle and the vehicle disregarded the Trooper and fled into Hancock County on KY 69. The vehicle fled more than twenty miles before colliding with a tree on Coal Bank Hollow Road and the operator fled on foot into a wooded area. The operator was identified as Larry N. Lawson of Owensboro and has not been located.

Kentucky State Police was assisted by the Ohio and Hancock County Sheriff's Offices, and the Owensboro Police Department K-9 Unit.

Kentucky State Police is actively searching for Mr. Larry N. Lawson. If anyone has any information concerning Mr. Lawson's whereabouts, please contact Kentucky State Police Post 16 Henderson at 270-826-3312.
