Fleeing or Evading Police, 1st Degree (Motor Vehicle)

Hartford, KY. (July 10, 2016) - On July 10, 2016 at 1:15 AM Kentucky State Police, along with Ohio County Sheriff's Office and Hartford Police Department, were conducting a traffic safety checkpoint when officers observed a vehicle make an improper u-turn on KY 69 N. A pursuit began when the operator, Stoy Bratcher Jr., refused to stop. Mr. Bratcher led officers to a residence on Autry Lane in Olaton at which point he exited the vehicle and fled on foot. Officers were successful in apprehending Mr. Bratcher and determined him to be under the influence of alcohol. Bratcher was placed under arrest and charged with Fleeing or Evading Police, 1st Degree (Motor Vehicle); Fleeing or Evading Police, 1st Degree (On Foot); Wanton Endangerment, 1st Degree-Police Officer; Operating Motor Vehicle Under the Influence (Aggravated Circumstances), 1st Offense; Resisting Arrest; along with additional traffic charges.
