Felony Arrest in Ohio County

Hartford, KY. (October 09, 2016) – Kentucky State Police made contact with Shawn D. Furlong of Smiths Grove during a traffic stop on the William Natcher Parkway near the 58 mile marker. Furlong was traveling with two female adults and a 9 day old infant. Through investigation it was determined Furlong was operating a motor vehicle while impaired. Trooper Curry also discovered drug paraphernalia which field tested positive for Methamphetamine. Furlong was placed under arrest and lodged in the Ohio County Detention Center on the following charge: Oper Mtr Vehicle U/Influ Alc/Drugs/Etc. .08 (Agg Circum) 1st Off, Poss Cont Sub 1st Deg, 1st Off (Methamphetamine), Drug Paraphernalia-Buy/Possess, Failure to Produce Insurance Card.
