KSP Post 16 Hosts “Shop with a Trooper” in Ohio County Today
Officials from multiple agencies pitched-in to help out

BEAVER DAM, KY December 17, 2016--The Kentucky State Police Professional Association (KSPPA) District 16 conducted its annual “Shop with a Trooper” program. This program is designed to assist children in need during the Christmas season.
Over 185 children, KSP troopers and families, KSP telecommunicators, Beaver Dam Police Department, Hartford Police Department, Ohio County Sheriff’s Department, Ohio County Constable District 3 and Kentucky Probation and Parole met at the Beaver Dam Wal-Mart and were paired with these families. Donation totals were over $15,000. Each child were allocated roughly $80. The shopping lists consisted of several items including coats, pants, shirts, shoes, hats, gloves, and of course…toys.
The Kentucky State Police would like to thank ALL of those who contributed to this much needed program including Ashby Trucking of Beaver Dam, KSPPA, Wal-Mart, Liquor Stop and all those who gave anonymous donations. Also, a special thanks to Ohio Sheriff’s Deputy Jerry Critchelow and KSPPA District 16 Representative Blake Smith for their integral role in the fund raising efforts.
