Injury Collision on US 45S in Graves County

(Mayfield, KY) - On Wednesday, 8-17-2016, the Kentucky State Police responded to a two vehicle injury collision on U.S. 45 South in Graves County. The investigation revealed that 36 year old Justin Work of Clinton, KY was traveling north on US 45 in a red 2007 Chevrolet pickup when he took his eyes off the road. When Work looked back up, he was about to rear end another vehicle. He swerved to avoid a collision with that vehicle and struck 59 year old Debra Caksackkar, also from Clinton, KY, who was traveling south. Mrs. Caksackkar was operating a black 2007 Chevrolet Pickup. Mrs. Caksackkar had to be extracted from her vehicle. Mrs. Caksackkar suffered minor injuries and was transported to Jackson Purchase Medical Center by Mayfield EMS. Trooper John Gordon is the investigating officer, and he was assisted on the scene by Graves County Sheriffs Office, Graves Fire/Rescue Squad, and Mayfield Fire/EMS.
