KSP Assisting with Semi Fire in Grand Rivers, KY

(Grand Rivers, KY.) - On September 1, 2016 at 00:32 a.m. Kentucky State Police received a call from the Livingston County Sheriff's Office requesting assistance on Interstate 24 East bound at Exit 31 Grand Rivers, KY, in Livingston County. The responding unit arrived on scene to find a tractor trailer fully engulfed along with both the trailers it was hauling. Fire departments on scene were able to extinguish the fire and are now awaiting the arrival of Stinnett's Wrecker Service to remove the commercial vehicle from the roadway. The semi was not carrying any hazardous materials and no one was injured in the incident. It is undetermined when the vehicle will be completely removed from the interstate and motorist are urged to use caution when approaching the area. Kentucky State Police were assisted by the Livingston County EMS, the Livingston County Sheriff's Department, the Livingston County Emergency Management Director, the Grand Lakes Fire Department, the Ledbetter Fire Department, and the Kuttawa Fire Department.
