KSP Arrests South Carolina Man on Marijuana Trafficking Charge

Kuttawa, KY. (September 3, 2016) The Kentucky State Police stopped a 2007 Mercury Milano traveling on Interstate 24, Wednesday, August 31, 2016 at approximately 12:00 P.M. for a traffic violation. During the traffic stop Trooper First Class T.J. Williams observed several indicators of criminal activity. Trooper Williams received consent to search the vehicle. During the search Trooper Williams located approximately 10 pounds of marijuana inside the dash, in the trunk along the right and rear fenders, and inside the spare tire. 30 Adderall pills were also located.
The driver of the vehicle, Saleh M Al Garad, 33, of Columbia, SC was arrested and charged with; Speeding (Violation), Trafficking in Marijuana over 5 pounds (Class C Felony), Possession of a Controlled Substance 2nd Degree, 1st Offense (Class A Misdemeanor), Prescription controlled substance not in original container, 1st offense (Class B Misdemeanor), Drug Paraphernalia - Buy/Possess (Class A Misdemeanor)
Al Garad was lodged in the Caldwell County Detention Facility.
